Daniel Ek’s Neko Health Secures $65M Investment to Revolutionize Preventative Healthcare with AI

Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, the creator of Spotify, co-founded the healthcare technology business Neko Health, which recently announced the successful closing of a €60 million ($65 million) series A fundraising round.

The business focuses on preventative healthcare and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to give thorough and non-invasive full-body scans with the goal of revolutionizing the healthcare sector.

The funding round marked the first time that Neko Health has gotten outside capital; it was headed by Lakestar and included investment firms Atomico and General Catalyst.

As a result, the board of the business will welcome Klaus Hommels of Lakestar and Niklas Zennström, co-founder of Skype and CEO of Atomico.

Neko Health has developed innovative medical scanning technology that enables the collection of extensive health data in a non-invasive manner, prioritizing speed, accuracy, and convenience.

Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, the creator of Spotify, co-founded the healthcare technology business Neko Health, which recently announced the successful closing of a €60 million ($65 million) series A fundraising round.

The company operates private clinics equipped with proprietary and off-the-shelf diagnostic products, including its own 360-degree full-body 3D scanner integrated with over 70 sensors.

This advanced scanner can collect 50 million data points within minutes.

The collected data undergoes analysis by a “self-learning AI-powered system,” providing doctors and patients with valuable insights.

Neko Health aims to address the current lack of focus on prevention in healthcare, enabling early detection of health issues through its AI platform.

Scan results are instantly analyzed, offering insights into various issues, ranging from skin conditions to cardiovascular health.

Clients receive their results during their appointment and can access and monitor them through a dedicated app.

According to Neko Health, each scan takes approximately 10 minutes and costs €250.

Following the scan, patients undergo an in-person consultation where the results are thoroughly explained.

The CEO and co-founder of Neko Health, Hjalmar Nilsonne, underscored the necessity of shifting toward preventative measures and the impact that limited resources for prevention place on healthcare systems.

Neko Health opened its inaugural clinic in Stockholm in February and has already performed over 1,000 scans, with a significant number of individuals on the waiting list.

Around 80% of clients, according to the business, have paid in advance for follow-up scans scheduled within a year.

Neko Health is in a good position to grow its cutting-edge AI-driven healthcare solutions and contribute to the shift in emphasis from reactive treatment to proactive prevention, ultimately assisting people in maintaining optimal health, thanks to the new investment.
