San Jose: A suspected gang member was arrested for allegedly using a deadly weapon in an assault

An alleged member of a gang who is suspected of assault with a lethal weapon was taken into custody by the San Jose Police Department on Monday, according to the department.

An assault with a lethal weapon was reported to have taken place in the 3000 block of Senter Road on the morning of August 10th, when the police were informed of the incident. When the suspect drove up, got out of his car, and asked the man about his gang connection, the man stated that he was in a parking lot with his pals at the time.

The suspect threatened to kill him while brandishing a handgun in front of him. After that, the guy allegedly shot his gun into the air and then ran away, as reported by the police.

The suspect has been identified as Guillermo Gonzalez, who is 33 years old and is a known member of a gang, according to the officers.

Gonzalez was taken into custody on September 5 after an arrest warrant was issued for him on the allegation that he had committed a gang-motivated attack with a lethal weapon and was brandishing a firearm.

The bail amount for Gonzalez is set at $250,000, and he is now being held at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas.
