Florida Democratic Party Official Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Matthew Inman, 39, a prominent figure in Florida politics, has been arrested on federal charges related to child pornography. Inman, who served as treasurer of the Orange County Democratic Party and president of the LGBTQ+ advocacy group Rainbow Democrats, is accused of possessing and distributing explicit material involving children.

Authorities believe that between August and October 2024, Inman received and saved footage of child sexual abuse on his phone. Furthermore, during a trip to Las Vegas, he allegedly participated in troubling online conversations with an undercover cop posing as the father of a small child. Investigators believe Inman showed an interest in seeing the child and even provided unlawful videos during these conversations.

Attempt to Destroy Evidence and Arrest

In order to avoid being arrested, Inman allegedly attempted to erase incriminating documents during the federal investigators’ raid on his house and sought refuge in the attic. Despite his efforts, he was captured by U.S. Marshals and is currently being imprisoned at Seminole County Jail without the possibility of release. Inman faces a minimum of five years and a maximum of twenty years in jail if found guilty.
