A fast-moving clipper system will bring light snow to Massachusetts from Sunday night to early Monday. Monday morning commuters may encounter slick roads.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, most regions will experience 1 to 2 inches of snow. Western Massachusetts may have higher totals of 2 to 3 inches. Snow will begin Sunday evening and end early Monday.
The system will pass fast, with the weather improving by Monday morning. However, untreated roadways may continue to be slippery. Drivers should allow for additional travel time.
Eastern Massachusetts, including Boston, will get less snowfall, with accumulations of around an inch. The southeastern regions, including Cape Cod and the islands, will receive less than an inch.
Temperatures will remain near freezing, limiting major accumulation, and winds will be light, lowering the risk of blowing snow.
