According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a powerful low-pressure system off the Pacific Northwest is funnelling rainfall into Northern and Central California, resulting in windy conditions across the Western Mojave Desert and Sierra region.

Breezy weather is likely to worsen early next week, with strong winds affecting Highway 395 in Owens Valley. Light precipitation may reach Owens Valley, but the majority of the moisture will remain in the Sierra. Snow is likely to accumulate only above 9,500 feet.
A respite in precipitation is expected on Sunday and Monday, but another atmospheric river could bring 20-40% precipitation to Inyo County and the Southern Great Basin midweek. Las Vegas, Clark County, and San Bernardino County are unlikely to receive measurable rainfall.
