Marcus Jordan Arrested: DUI, Cocaine, and His Shocking Name-Drop Fail

Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, had a night to forget on February 4, 2025. What started as a wrong turn ended with a DUI arrest, name-dropping his famous dad, a drug-related charge, and an off-key performance of โ€œEye of the Tiger.โ€

A Night Gone Wrong

In Maitland, Florida, police discovered Marcus’s blue Lamborghini stranded on train tracks shortly after one in the morning. Officers saw right away that something was wrong: his eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and there was a persistent odor of alcohol. Marcus acknowledged that he had been drinking, saying, “Just a little.” However, it became evident that the alcohol had taken a toll once the field sobriety tests got underway.

He stumbled, struggled to follow instructions, and couldnโ€™t keep his balance.

โ€œIโ€™m Michael Jordanโ€™s Sonโ€

Desperate to avoid arrest, Marcus tried to pull the โ€œdo-you-know-who-I-amโ€ card, telling officers, โ€œIโ€™m Michael Jordanโ€™s son.โ€ But the namedrop didnโ€™t sway them. He grew frustrated and insisted he just wanted to get home, blaming the incident on a bad turn.

At one point, Marcus unexpectedly broke into a rendition of โ€œEye of the Tiger,โ€ adding an odd twist to an already tense situation. But the officers werenโ€™t entertained.

Cocaine Discovery Changes Everything

A little package of white substance, subsequently determined to be cocaine, was found by officers investigating Marcus’s belongings. The discovery further exacerbated Marcus’s already mounting annoyance. His evening had deteriorated in a matter of seconds.

Arrest and Release

Marcus faced charges of DUI, cocaine possession, and nonviolently resisting an officer. Later that day, he was freed on a $4,000 bond after being brought to the Orange County Jail.

A Troubled History

Not everyone gets into trouble as Marcus does. In 2012, he was jailed for disorderly conduct outside an Omaha hotel after making news for tweeting about spending hundreds of dollars at a nightclub while underage.

Marcus sees this as just another reminder that there are consequences for even famous people. As he navigates this latest stage of his life, he will now have to contend with both heightened public scrutiny and legal obstacles.
