If you thought winter was done messing with us, think again! The snow may be moving out, but an icy blast is about to take over Baltimore and Minnesota. The next few days will bring freezing temperatures, slippery roads, and downright brutal wind chills. Hereโs whatโs coming and how you can stay safe.
Baltimore: From Chilly to Freezing โ Fast!
Baltimore had it easy over the weekend with temps reaching 47ยฐF and some sunshine, but thatโs about to change. Monday will be cloudy with a high of 44ยฐF, but by nightfall, temperatures will dip to 28ยฐF.
The real trouble starts Tuesday. Snow is expected to roll in by late morning, bringing 2 to 4 inches. That means slick roads, slow commutes, and a messy afternoon. On top of that, temps will drop to 30ยฐF overnight, making for a slushy, icy mess.
Wednesday morning could bring a little more snow before the skies turn cloudy. Roads may still be dangerous, so be extra careful if youโre heading out. By Thursday, the rain will clear, and weโll see a slight warm-up to 53ยฐFโbut donโt get too comfortable. Overnight temps will sink to 26ยฐF, and Friday will be cooler again, hovering around 40ยฐF.
If youโve got weekend plans, expect a mix of snow and rain, with highs in the low 40s and lows around freezing. In other words, classic unpredictable winter weather!
Minnesota: The Deep Freeze Is Here
Minnesota, brace yourselvesโthis week is going to be rough. After Sundayโs 19ยฐF high, things are about to get dangerously cold.
Monday will be freezing with a high of just 13ยฐF, but the real shocker is the overnight low: -18ยฐF. And it gets even worse. By Tuesday, weโll barely hit 4ยฐF during the day, and overnight temps will plunge to a bone-chilling -20ยฐF.
Wednesday through Friday wonโt bring much relief. Highs will stay between 7ยฐF and 12ยฐF, with nighttime temps well below zero. Some light snow is possible Friday and Saturday, but the real concern is the extreme cold. Wind chills will make it feel even worse, so bundle up if you have to go outside.
How to Stay Warm & Safe
- Layer up! Cover all exposed skinโfrostbite can happen fast.
- Drive carefully. Roads will be icy, so take it slow.
- Winter-proof your car. Keep blankets, snacks, and an emergency kit on hand.
- Stay indoors when you can. The wind chills will be brutal, so donโt risk it if you donโt have to.
Winterโs not done with us yet, but with a little prep, we can power through. Stay warm and stay safe!
