When Is the Storm Hitting?
The snow will start falling Wednesday morning, but things will really pick up in the afternoon and evening. This is when the storm will be at its worst, with snowfall rates of up to an inch per hour making it tough for plows to keep up. The storm will ease up by early Thursday morning, but by then, we could be looking at 4 to 7 inches of snow—and some areas might see even more.
This isn’t just a light dusting, folks. This is the kind of snow that sticks around and makes getting around a challenge.
What Does This Mean for Travel?
If you’ve ever been stuck in Chicago traffic during a snowstorm, you already know what to expect: long delays, slippery roads, and lots of honking. The Wednesday evening commute is expected to be especially rough. Roads will be covered in snow, visibility will be poor, and accidents are likely.
