Residents thereof of Wilmington, NC, have begun to tolerate temperatures lingering around 25°F (-4°C) with added wind chill factors. Other cities like Charleston, SC, have been hitting 33°F (0°C) with brisk winds to boot.

School buses and local businesses have ceased operations merely as a precaution. Shelters will continue to be opened for those seeking warmth, local organizations are reaching out to provide assistance for the vulnerable.
