Carroll High School is preparing for a leadership change as Principal Kourtney Abbotts has announced her resignation, effective at the end of the current school year. After three years in the role, Abbotts expressed gratitude for her time working with students, staff, and the Carroll Community School District (CCSD).
What’s Next for Carroll High?
With Abbotts stepping down, the CCSD Board of Education has hired Grundmeyer Leader Search LLC to find a new principal. The board approved an $8,109 search package that covers recruiting, marketing the position, and interview facilitation.
The goal? To find the right person to continue leading Carroll High School forward while ensuring a smooth transition for students and staff.
Changes in School Leadership
This principal search comes as other leadership changes are happening in the district:
- Dean Lansman has been hired as the new Middle School Principal, starting July 1.
- Lansman currently serves as Assistant High School Principal at Ballard Community School District.
With these transitions, CCSD is working to ensure strong leadership at both the high school and middle school levels heading into the next academic year.
What’s Next?
- The search for a new high school principal is already underway.
- Interviews and hiring decisions will take place over the next few months.
- The district is focused on finding a leader who will continue to support students and teachers while driving academic success.
