Miamiโs Brickell neighborhood, known for its luxury high-rises, lively restaurants, and young professionals, was shaken this past weekend after a man reportedly exposed himself inside an apartment complex.
The incident happened around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at the Maizon Brickell apartments on SW 12th Street. Now, Miami Police are asking for the publicโs help in identifying the suspect.
What We Know About the Suspect
According to authorities, the man is described as being in his 20s, wearing a dark green hoodie, sweatpants, and black-and-white sneakers at the time of the incident.
Police have not yet released security footage but are urging residents in the area to report anything suspicious.
Is This Connected to a Similar Case at the University of Miami?
Investigators are also looking into a possible link between this case and another indecent exposure incident that happened at the University of Miamiโs Donna Shalala Student Center. In that case, a man allegedly exposed himself to a female student, engaging in lewd behavior.
While no official connection has been confirmed, authorities are not ruling anything out as they continue their investigation.
A Reminder to Stay Aware
While incidents like these are unsettling, they also serve as a reminder to stay alert and look out for one another. If you live in the Brickell area or around UMโs campus, be mindful of your surroundings and report any suspicious behavior.
Hopefully, with the communityโs help, police can find the suspect and keep Miamiโs public spaces safe for everyone.
