What should have been an ordinary moment outside a Miramar convenience store turned into a terrifying, unprovoked attack. A 31-year-old man, identified only as Rashad, was brutally assaulted after holding the door open for a woman. The shocking incident was caught on surveillance video and has left the community shaken.
Caught on Camera: A Sudden, Vicious Attack
According to police, Rashad had just walked into the store when a man suddenly approached him from behind and pistol-whipped him in the back of the head. The suspect then loaded his gun and pointed it directly at Rashad before running off and speeding away in an older-model white sedan.
Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss described the attack as completely unprovoked. “This was a vicious and senseless act of violence,” he said. “We need to get this person off the streets before it happens again.”
Who Is the Attacker?
Authorities are still working to identify the suspect, who remains at large. Police have released surveillance footage and are asking the public for help in tracking him down. He was last seen leaving the scene in a white sedan.
Why Are Unprovoked Attacks on the Rise?
While violent crime in Miramar is relatively low, random attacks like this are becoming a growing concern in cities across the country. Experts point to increased tensions, mental health struggles, and easy access to firearms as possible reasons behind the rise in unprovoked violence.
