After a night of severe storms, thousands of Alabama residents woke up to widespread power outages across the state. High winds, heavy rain, and downed power lines have left entire neighborhoods in the dark, with Alabama Power crews now racing to restore electricity.
As of this morning, nearly 14,507 customers remain without power, with the hardest-hit areas including Coosa, Randolph, and Tallapoosa counties, where over 1,000 homes and businesses in each region are affected.
