Overnight Monday into Tuesday, Russia initiated a series of drone assaults across Ukraine.
According to Mykolaiv’s mayor, Oleksandr Senkevich, one of the “facilities” in the southern port of Mykolaiv caught fire as a result of the attacks.
In addition to Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy, air raid alerts reverberated across Ukraine, including in Odesa, a nearby city on the Black Sea.
The assaults happened as Russian authorities declared that road traffic had been partly reconstructed on the Crimea bridge, the only direct link that connects the occupied peninsula and the Russian mainland, which was damaged by an explosion twenty-four hours prior.
Damage was sustained to a span conveying road traffic in one direction, but the parallel rail bridge was unaffected.
Air Defense Downed Ukranian Drone
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, stated that the defense ministry in Moscow had begun preparing a response to the assault in which a Russian couple and their daughter were slain.
Russian air defenses and electronic preventative measures systems shot down 28 Ukrainian drones early Tuesday morning over Crimea, the Russian defense ministry was quoted as saying by the RIA news agency.
The drone attacks did not result in any casualties or property damage, the ministry told Reuters.

Black Sea Grain Agreement
In other news, Russia withdrew from the Black Sea grain agreement brokered by the United Nations and Turkey a year ago in order to solve a global food crisis by permitting the safe export of Ukrainian grain from Black Sea ports.
Moscow stated that the decision was definitive and warned that it could not ensure ship safety.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Russia’s decision “unconscionable,” while UN Secretary General António Guterres rejected Russia’s reasons for terminating the treaty, including the loss of Russian agricultural markets.
