DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA – The 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo) is normally a wild celebration in Delray Beach, even if our friends in Mexico don’t know why the Estados Unidos makes such a big deal about it. In 2020 the party will be different because of coronavirus pandemic, but there are still some local options to bring the festa alive.

For those who did not know, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day, which falls on Tuesday, May 5 in 2020, is also known as Battle of Puebla Day.

Delray Beach has a few stand-out options for Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, and thankfully they are still operating and offering some Cinco de Mayo curb-side specials. The following have been listed by Delray Beach’s Downtown Delray Authority and Discover Palm Beaches tourism authority.
