DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA – As of 2017, CHD Expert reported there are more than 59,800 Mexican eateries in the United States, representing approximately nine percent of all restaurants in the U.S., and most Americans couldn’t be happier about it. In Delray Beach there are a number of great options for a taste south of the border.
El Camino
El Camino – 15 NE 2nd Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444
This hot spot is almost certainly worth waiting for a table at (plan for 30-45 minutes), with an elaborate menu that does not overreach. Described as ‘modern Mexican fare, craft cocktails and beer offered in a buzzy, rustic-chic space with a long bar.’
Local Instagrammer Delray Foodie explained why it is his favorite, “the food is always on point and the service is amazing also who doesn’t like $2 tacos.” Adding, “my favorite dish has to be the fish tacos the dish is in my favorite because the fish is always so fresh as well as all the toppings.”
Open for lunch at 11AM through dinner all the way until 2AM every night normally (but check times due to the coronavirus closures).
Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar

A contender for the local’s favorite, this impressive location is 1 of 9 (all in Florida except for one in Brooklyn). The guacamole is prepared table-side, there are plenty of hot sauces and flavors along with a huge bar to sample from their 200 varieties of tequila. Open for lunch at 11:30 AM through dinner all the way until 12AM Midnight every night.
Senor Burrito
Senor Burrito – 142 SE 6th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483
These guys have a location in Delray Beach and Boca Raton with a no-nonsense menu, fresh salsa and made-to-order guacamole. A reviewer wrote “Good food, good service, fair prices and off street parking”. Moderately priced, and open for happy hour at 4:30 PM through dinner until 10PM and 11PM on the weekends.

La Bamba Mexican and Spanish Restaurant

The Molina Family came from El Salvador and opened their first of six restaurants in 1988, now the ‘family-friendly outpost offers huge portions of classic dishes inspired by Cuban and Spanish recipes’. This eatery is not in downtown Delray, and offers lots of space with a fun family atmosphere. Moderately priced, and open for lunch at 11:30 AM through dinner until 10PM every night.
Hacienda Mexican Restaurant & Bar

Another family owned restaurant has ‘been a staple of the Delray Beach community for over forty years.’ With an authentic menu, large portions and even larger margaritas, this mainstay keeps the locals happily away from the Atlantic Avenue bustle. Moderately priced, and open for lunch at 11:30 AM through dinner until 10PM every night.
