DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA – On May 1st, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) updated the traffic advisory for the Swinton Avenue Resurfacing Project in Delray Beach. This 1.5-mile roadway improvements project began Tuesday, April 14th and the $1.4 million project is set to for completion in early 2021.

Swinton Avenue Resurfacing Project in the week of May 1st until May 8th, will have one lane closed in each direction from S 10th Street to SW 6th Streetfrom 7AM until 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, image recreation.

Work includes milling and resurfacing, adding 5-foot wide sidewalk on the west side of the roadway from S 10th Street to S 3rd Street, drainage, signage and pavement marking upgrades including roadway striping for shared use travel lanes, and minor signalization improvements to existing equipment.

For the week of May 1st until May 8th, the statement confirmed one lane may be closed in each direction from S 10th Street to SW 6th Street, intermittently, 7AM
until 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.

Daytime full closures for drainage installation are permitted in only one location at a time. When one location is completed, the contractor may move to the
next location, weather permitting.

S. Swinton Avenue, just north of SW 9th Street, may be closed, 7AM until 6PM, daily, Monday through Friday, through Friday, May 8th, for underground drainage installation, until completed. Motorists may detour via SW 9th Street, SW 4th Avenue, and SW 8th Court, during work operations. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Once work is completed just north of SW 9th Street, Swinton Avenue, between SW 8th Street and SW 8th Court, may be closed, 7AM until 6PM, daily, through Friday, May 8th, for underground drainage installation. Motorists may detour via SW 8th Street, SW 2nd Avenue, and SW 8th Court. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Please see flyer attached.

Beginning Monday, May 11th, S. Swinton Avenue, between SE 4th Street and SW 5th Street, may be closed, 7AM until 6PM, daily, through Friday, May 15th, for underground
drainage installation. Motorists may detour via SE 4th Street, SW 4th Avenue, and SW 7th Street. Again, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
