The ambitious $2 billion American Heartland Theme Park and Resort is gearing up to take center stage just west of Grand Lake on Route 66, as revealed in the latest development plans announced on a bright Wednesday morning.

The highly-anticipated theme park and resort are slated to welcome visitors in 2026, with a prelude in spring 2025 featuring a first-phase RV park, complete with charming cabins.

The grandeur of the Americana-themed park is awe-inspiring, boasting an extensive 125-acre area akin to the size of Disneyland or Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, as disclosed in an exuberant news release by American Heartland.

Kristy Adams, a sales and marketing executive for the development, expressed great enthusiasm, believing the project to be a gamechanger for tourism in the region and beyond.

The ambitious endeavor is projected to attract over two million visitors annually from outside Oklahoma’s borders, acting as a strong magnet for tourists far and wide.

Boasting six distinct “lands,” each uniquely themed and crafted with precision, American Heartland promises to transport visitors to the wonders of the Great Plains, the charm of Bayou Bay, the excitement of Big Timber Falls, the serenity of Stony Point Harbor, the nostalgia of Liberty Village, and the marvels of Electropolis.

The creative genius behind this enthralling venture is led by none other than Steve Hedrick, and the design team comprises more than 20 former Disney Parks builders and Walt Disney Imagineers, ensuring an experience that will leave visitors spellbound and delighted, as stated in the news release.

In addition to the theme park’s allure, the development will encompass an expansive 320-acre RV park offering a staggering 750 RV spaces alongside 300 cozy cabins.
