Police Search for Gunman Who Shot Walmart Employee in Pennsylvania

A shooting inside a Walmart store in Glenolden, Pennsylvania left one employee wounded Friday night, and police are still searching for the suspect.

Darby Township Police have identified the gunman as Armani Tyrell Waite. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses.

Inside the Store

The shooting happened at the Walmart on North MacDade Boulevard after an argument broke out between two customers inside the store. During the dispute, one of the men pulled out a gun and fired between five and ten shots before fleeing the scene.

A female Walmart employee was struck in the calf by a stray bullet. She is expected to make a full recovery. No customers were injured.

Suspect Still at Large

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Waite. He is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts to call 911 immediately.

Community Reacts

The Walmart reopened Sunday, with shoppers returning for the first time since the incident. Many came back cautiously.

“I made my husband come with me because I was scared to come by myself,” said one Glenolden resident.

Another shopper summed up what many were feeling: “You should be able to go shopping in peace without anything of that kind taking place.”
