WICHITA, Kansas — Two young brothers in Kansas are now completely alone — no mother, no father, no older brother — after a series of tragedies that has left an entire community in shock.
On Monday night, 46-year-old Guerrero Moreno Jr. was killed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV north of Valley Center. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his death.
The date was July 27, 2026.
The Heartbreaking Coincidence That Has Everyone Talking
Two years earlier — on July 27, 2024 — Guerrero’s wife, Erin Moreno, was killed in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike.
One of their sons, then 17, died in that same crash.
Now, on the exact same date two years later, their father is gone too.
Left behind are two boys, aged 11 and 14, who have now lost every immediate family member they had.
A Community Rallying Around Two Boys Who Have Lost Everything
A fundraising campaign has been launched to cover funeral costs for Guerrero and to support his sons as they face an uncertain future.
“After enduring so much loss at such a young age, they are now grieving the passing of their father as well,” the campaign page reads.
Guerrero was described as a father whose greatest pride was his sons.
“They are now facing the heartbreaking reality of growing up without either of their parents,” the page added.
The boys will need long-term support — financial, emotional, and community-driven — as they navigate what comes next.
